Old Enough To Re-Paint But Young Enough To Sell

It was getting tricky logging in here without upgrading. The words promising a wonderful new life on the other side got bigger with time; the log-in field shrank and moved around the page. Today I switched to New Blogger.

Wise old Shocho warns us about upgrading all the time. I just lost the image toolbar by installing Internet Explorer 7 - it became a footnote in the Help file with no hint of warning to the end user. So guess what? Everything seems fine with Son Of Blogspot.

There's loads new you can do with the layout. The Search Blog function works now, instead of just pretending to. I can give my posts tags though I probably won't because - did I mention? - the Search Blog function works now and I rarely write about a thing without mentioning it by name! So just search porn (or another likely Ford Prefect tag) and you'll get the same results - nay, better.

Suggested searches: galactica, doctor who, hitch-hiker, album, film, game, book, feeling, crush, America, Britain, overheard, top five.

I don't like IE7. Boo.

New Blogger is nice in that it doesn't take half an hour to load a couple photos onto a post. I don't like that when I'm commenting, the tab key doesn't work to take you from the word verification to your username and all that. It's a minor inconvenience, though.

Ooh, here's another irritating thing I've noticed--a lot of times the Blogger start page doesn't load properly. I'm forced to go comment somewhere (like right now), so I can log in, then go back to the dashboard to post.

Wait, I'm supposed to be talking about my "favorite" features, aren't I?

I love new blogger it's great, the transfer was painless and there's lots of stuff you can do without learning any html..... Mod is right, get firefox and fuck IE7 (which just tries to copy firefox anyway)

Not wild about the new bugger as I can't find out how to stay logged in. The remember me feature has amnesia.

Kat, Mod & Abuser: I do like IE7 but not completely - the icons are annoyingly spread out all over the place. Brad (Running On Empty blog) posted recently how Firefox itself, not his anti-virus, not his service provider, popped up to warn him about a suspected phishing site that he clicked on the other day. I'm definitely going to give it a trial after hearing that.

Grunt: I have the same problem :(

And you can customise the search box to include youtube or hypemachine or whatever. If I could spell prosletyse I'd go on.

People are buying books. Which is nice.

Hey, the search thing does work! It took me some time, but I wanted to find that post about bookcrossing (although I didn't remember the name of it). Hooray!
